A Playlist for Homeboyz by Alec

1) The first song for my Playlist is “I’m Different” by 2chainz. This song matches the scene in Homeboyz when Teddy is being escorted to his cell and everybody is staring at him. These two fit because he must feel like he is standing out and nobody understands him.


2) The second song in my playlist is “here comes trouble” by Chronixx. This matches the scene in Homeboyz when Teddy walks toward the gang members in front of a minimart going to fight them. These two fit together because they both talk about trouble coming.


3) The third song in my playlist is “I won’t give up” by Jason Mraz. This song matches the scene in Homeboyz when pop’s brings home teddy from court and he tells teddy over and over that he won’t give up on him he will never give up on him. These two fit because they both are trying to say they won’t give up on something.





4) My next song on my playlist is “homeboy” by Eric Church. This song matches the scene in Homeboyz when Teddy is disrespecting his parents particularly when he first gets home from court and he acts like he doesn’t care about anything or anybody. These two fit because they both are saying what you first start doing when you start to become a homeboy.





5) My next song is “Homeboyz” by Tupac. This song matches the scene in Homeboyz when Micah feels alone and he thinks nobody cares about him except his homeboys particularly when Teddy didn’t show up to his probation and help Micah after school like he was supposed to. These two fit because they are both saying nobody cares except your homeboys.


6) The next song in my playlist is “Newton Ct shooting song” by Jose Archuleta. This song matches the scene when teddy feels angry and he would give anything to get his sister because he misses her mainly when Teddy is going to try to kill Tina’s murderer. These to fit because they would both give anything to get their loved one back.





7) My next song on my playlist is “The show goes on” by Lupe Fiasco. This matches the scene in homeboyz when they describe where teddy lives in the beginning of the book particularly because of all the gangs that are there. These two fit because they both talk about living in the bad neighborhood and what it’s like.


8) My last song on my playlist is “Not afraid” by Eminem.. This song matches Homeboyz when they describe teddy of having no fears and being toughest kid out there especially when he fights the gang leader and beats him up. These two fit because both are saying and showing they have no fear and they will fight their way to the top.
